Event Profile:

The event is held during the weekend before Easter and will be sponsored by the Council of the City of Prague for the 5th consecutive year. Brass bands from all over Europe come together to play and parade in the "Golden City" to mark the opening ceremony of the famous Easter Market.

The celebrations, are highlighted by brass bands and majorettes on parade through the streets of Prague's old town centre.

On 8th and 9th of April 2006, the bands play in the "International Marathon of Brass Bands" in one of the most impossing venues in the city: the town square in the centre of Prague; concerts and parades will also take place in the spa city of o Podebrady and in a large hall in Lysa on the banks of the Elbe.

Jaromir-Vejvoda-Memorial: The event is dedicated to the composer and conductor Jaromir-Vejvoda (1902-1988). The famous polka “Skoda lásky”, better known as “Rosamunde” or "The Barril Polka” was acclaimed world wide and translated into 30 languages. His son, Josef Vejvoda, also a composer, conductor and jazz musician will also be joining the "International Marathon of Brass Bands" with his own band.


  • DIA 1: Arrival to the Hotel. Our guide will welcome you with a glass of Becherova; accommodation.

  • DIA 2:
    Buffet breakfast. Half-day city tour with a a guide,  performance in the marathon for brass bands in, i.e., a march through the city; accommodation

  • DIA 3:
    Buffet breakfast. Performance in another function the Marathon for brass Bands as programmed; accommodation.

  • DIA 4:
    Buffet breakfast. Return trip.

    The final programme is based on the differents functions. A specific itinerary will be made for each group.
